Session 53: The Mother of Dragons

The party awakens in a sprawling cavern beneath Stonegarden, a place of rumbling sounds and acrid smells.

A massive, circular stone grill dominates the chamber, with a fountain of glistening metal threads sprouting from its center. This is the lair of the dragon Scarne. The dwelvers, Rangmar and Arvia, explain that their people have been evacuated for safety and that the dragon, though intelligent, is contained for now.

Session 52: Of Curses, Fire, and Fate

The silence of the mushroom cavern was broken only by the mournful braying of Rudy the donkey. It nudged the still form of Kristov the peddler, a lifeless heap of cloth and bone, as if mourning a companion it had known far too well. Then, with a shimmer that seemed to ripple the very air, the donkey’s form wavered, elongated, and solidified into that of a gaunt half-elf.

Session 51: A Death in the Family

The air, thick with the scent of damp earth and ancient stone, suddenly shifted. A fresh, warm fragrance, like a summer meadow, wafted down the spiral staircases, pulling the adventurers onward. One moment, they were descending into the unknown depths beneath the city of stone; the next, the stairs opened into a breathtaking, impossible vista.Continue reading “Session 51: A Death in the Family”

Session 50: It Came from the Depths

The putrid tang of stagnant water and decaying matter hung heavy in the air, a fitting prelude to the horrors that lurked beneath the surface. Suddenly, the water churned, and a colossal tentacle, thick as a tree trunk, erupted from theContinue reading “Session 50: It Came from the Depths”

While debating whether they should continue on without the creature, they hear a yelp coming from deeper within the woods. “Sounds like our goblin friend could use our help,” WendContinue reading “Arc Light Adventures Session 4”

Arc Light Adventures Session 3

Opening the large double doors, the teen adventurers find a room filled with sordid instruments of either torture or experimentation. The middle of the chamber has a massive slab table. The table is surrounded on all sides with arcane marks of warding on the ground, marked in swirling runes. Laying on top of the tableContinue reading “Arc Light Adventures Session 3”

Arc Light Adventures Session 2

Session Two The shock of Ash’s father dying is just starting to set in as the rest of the villagers complete the grim work of burying the cultists — all save their leader, who is still smoldering. “We’ll take these two back to town for Father Skot to question,” the blacksmith says as he pointsContinue reading “Arc Light Adventures Session 2”

Arc Light Adventures 1

Session One The children all froze as they came upon each other at the river’s edge. Ash, Celia, and Yara were astounded at the sight of the strange youths before them. Wend and Vesper, though startled, were optimistic at the visage of people other than the red-clad cultists who captured them. “Please,” Vesper says. “WeContinue reading “Arc Light Adventures 1”
